About Asian Festival

Mission of Asian Festival
The Asian Festival strives to introduce Asian Cultures to the North Texas population as a part of the celebration of May as the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The festival also promotes unity within various Asian American communities.

History of Asian Festival
The first Asian Festival was held sixteen years ago. Originally the Festival was initiated by the Dallas Parks & Recreations Department as a small neighborhood program to introduce city services to the newly arrived Asian immigrants and refugees. From a small gathering in Exall Park the Festival has transformed into a multicultural program led by the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. It is now the largest cultural event attracting more than 15,000 in 2005
