1. Is GDAACC a non-profit organization?
GDAACC is a nonprofit corporation and shall have all of the powers, duties, authorizations and responsibilities as provided in the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act; provided, however, the Corporation shall neither have nor exercise any power, nor engage directly or indirectly in any activity, that would invalidate its status as a corporation that is exempt from federal income tax as an organization described in Section 501(c)(6) of the Code.

2. What is the purpose of the Chamber?
The purposes of the Association are to represent and to advocate the interests of Asian American businesses and their communities; to foster fellowship between the members of the Corporation and between members of the Corporation and the business community at large; to encourage and promote the growth and good standing of the members of the Corporation; to develop and encourage cooperation with other organizations which promote minority businesses; and to engage in any other activity not otherwise prohibited to it by law or regulation. These activities shall be carried out to the extent and in such manner that they further business league purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended or superseded from time to time.

3. Who governs the GDAACC?
It is governed through its articles of incorporation and its by-laws. It has classes of members, Board of Directors, elected by members of GDAACC; Executive Committee, which exercise powers and do acts delegated by the Board of Directors.

4. Who runs the day-to-day affairs of GDAACC?
The Office of the Executive Director with its working staff runs the day-to-day activities of GDAACC.

5. Is GDAACC an open membership organization?
Membership in GDAACC shall consist of individual members and corporate members. Each corporate member may designate one (1) individual representative, who shall be entitled to vote in accordance with these Bylaws, in accordance of such terms and conditions as the Board of Directors shall determine.

6. How do I become a member?
Except in the initial election of members, all applicants for membership shall file with the Secretary a written application in such form as the Board of Directors shall from time to time determine. Membership shall be effective upon acceptance of the application by the Board and upon payment of the applicable dues. Membership shall not be transferable.

7. Is GDAACC affiliated with any national organization?
Although GDAACC is the largest Asian American Chamber of Commerce in the country, currently has affiliation with national organization called "CAABO" (Coalition of Asian American Busuiness Organizations). It is affiliated with the Texas Federation of Asian American Chambers of Commerce in the State of Texas. The State-wide chambers of Commerce has chapters in Austin, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

8. Does GDAACC comprise all the Asian communities in the DFW Metropolitan area?
Currently, GDAACC has members (individual and community organizations) from 17 ethnic Asian communities from the country of Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Vietnam.

9. How can I get involved in GDAACC?
As a member one can be involved in the different levels of participation – as an officer of the corporation, as a volunteer in the working committees and in other special projects and events sponsored by GDAACC and its affiliate and partnering organizations.
